Celebrity Trends: Me, Myself & I

This year, fashion has taken itself back to the days of kindergarten and has adopted a practical, yet oh so chic, trend in the form of plastering names and initials all over  apparel.

Celebs all over the place are ensuring we haven’t forgotten who they are by stamping their names on the back of jackets, purses, handbags, hats and phone cases.

A case of branding gone wild or extreme narcissism, who can tell, but what we can figure out is that this trend is one that is super cute and not to be overlooked.

Who wouldn’t want the chance to feel like they are part of the Pink Ladies from Grease by splattering their name on the back of a pink bomber as seen in Topshop’s Karlie Kloss campaign earlier this year?

The growing trend can be credited all the way back to the days when Carrie Bradshaw ruled the streets of NYC and paraded a nameplate necklace around her neck. Since then names can be seen in every shape and form on anything that is eligible to support them.

Everyone from Louis Vuitton to Cara Delevingne and Gigi Hadid have jumped on the band wagon and if you don’t have a jacket sporting at least your first name, a marble print phone case with the two big, black letters of your initials or a set of emojis in your honour, then you might need to take a step back and consider whether you really deserve to be someone.

After all, a name is the most important part of the person in the clothes and if nothing else you’re sure to have any lost pieces returned to you immediately!
